Summer Training

Summit summer runs will be held from June 10th through the beginning of the school year. In addition a running program for athletes to follow as they prep for the upcoming season is linked below at the green text that reads 'Running Program'. This running program can be used for athletes to train on their own, or they can come to summer running practices if they wish.

2024 Summer Practice starts June 10th
Summer running will begin June 10th and will continue up until school starts. We will have practices available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 – 9:15, meeting at Summit. These practices are not required, but runners that will experience the most success this season will be those who have put in the work during the summer to prepare for the fall. If your athlete is unable to come to our summer runs, please encourage them to run on their own. Also on the days we don’t have an optional practice, athletes are expected to run on their own or with a buddy to continue building their fitness. Run 6 days, with one day rest.

Practices will be held at Summit:

  • Starting June 10th:  Monday, Wednesday, & Thurday from 8:00am to 9:15am

Note: Summer Running is not mandatory but strongly suggested. You will be behind if you do not run during the summer! The first mandatory day of practice is the first day of school (August 7th).

If you are a returning varsity runner please follow the Group A Summer Training schedule
If you are new to running or did not run varsity please follow the Group B Summer Training schedule
