DESCRIPTION
The Math Club at Summit consists of students (and a teacher) who enjoy working on challenging math problems with friends.
In October, the club focuses on MATHCOUNTS curriculum. The problems in MATHCOUNTS are problem-solving, multi-conceptual, and offer math experiences beyond those seen in a traditional classroom. Prior students have stated the problems they saw and learned about in MATHCOUNTS helped prepare them for higher math and college entrance exams.
In February, the club "morphs" into Math Academic Super Bowl, and students switch to a new curriculum offering new challenges to their mathematical minds.
Beyond the weekly meetings, there is a competition component. School competitions determine a team of 4 to compete at MATHCOUNTS competition (held in February and March) and a new competition determines a team of 5 to compete at the Math Academic Super Bowl (in April).

Any student grades 6-8 can join. If you are interested, attend the first meeting and keep coming! There are no official dues although students do sign up for snack rotations and will bring snack in for the group around 2 or 3 times during the year.
