Learning in the Library

Learning happens every day in the library!

  • BOOK CHECK OUTS: Students visit the library every other week in their Reading Class (sixth grade) or their Language Arts Class (seventh and eighth grade). During those class visits, students have time to look for library books and to do a little quiet reading. Additionally, Mr. Moore usually leads some sort of activity such as delivering a book talk or helping students write book reviews that are published in the library's catalog.
  • RESEARCH AND INQUIRY: Mr. Moore collaborates with teachers to create activities that help students learn through the research or inquiry process. Activities include narrowing research topics, figuring out where to find appropriate information, accessing that information through print sources, Web sources, and research databases, and then evaluating that information to make sure it's accurate and from credible sources. Additionally, Mr. Moore helps students learn how to cite information they use.
