Our second book fair of the year will be May 13-17. All students will have two opportunities to visit through their English classes—once to “window shop” and make out wish lists and then a second time to purchase if they weren’t ready to do so on their first visit. All items at this book fair are “buy one, get one free” so this is a great opportunity for students to stock up for summer reading.
Interested in volunteering at the book fair? We appreciate help with running the cash register or helping students make wish lists or shop for books. To see the volunteers’ schedule and reserve a time, go to the book fair website ( http://www.scholastic.com/bf/summitmiddleschool ) and click the “sign up” button in the volunteers’ area. You can also contact Mr. Moore in the SMS Library Media Center to arrange a time ([email protected] ; 260-431-2519). Please remember that volunteers must have a completed background check and bullying awareness/prevention. Information on background checks and bullying awareness/prevention can be found at http://summit.sacs.k12.in.us/resources/for_parents (scroll down to “Visitor and Volunteer Policies”).
The book fair accepts cash, credit and debit cards, checks (payable to Summit Middle School) and – new this book fair – eWallet which allows you to use a credit card to set up a cash reserve on your child’s book fair account. When your child checks out, we will look up his or her account and use the balance to pay for his or her items. At the end of the book fair, the purchases will be processed and your card will be charged only for what your child has purchased. For more information on eWallett, check the book fair web site at the link above.
